Biography

Gavin Buckley graduated from MTU/UCC in 2022 with a BSc (Hons) in Biomedical Science. He completed his diploma in clinical laboratory practice at Cork University Hospital in 2023 and now works in the Haematology department as a medical scientist. Gavin Buckley was awarded the ACSLM President’s Prize in 2023 and was later a silver medallist of the EPBS Martin Nicholson award in Malta. Gavin has been research-active since joining the haematology department with various published works focusing primarily on anticoagulant-associated interferences in laboratory coagulation assays.
