Biography
Réiltín has been working as a medical scientist in the Pathology department Cork University Hospital for over 20 years and lecturing on the UCC/MTU Biomed cellular pathology courses for the past 15 years. She has an MSc in Biomed from University of Ulster and an MSc in leadership and management in healthcare from the RCSI. In 2015 she was appointed as Chief Medical Scientist with responsibility for developing a regional molecular pathology service in Cork University Hospital, and in 2021 was tasked with the establishment and implementation of an accredited Next Generation Sequencing service to ISO 15189 standards for tissue and plasma within the CUH diagnostic pathology laboratory. She has just completed a UCC/CUH employment based PhD in this field.
