Biography
Upon completing the BSc in Medical Science programme at Dublin Institute of Technology (now TU Dublin), Claire gained valuable experience working in a diagnostic Haematology laboratory before pursuing research in the field, which led to the award of both an MPhil and a PhD. In 2013, she joined TU Dublin in her current role and subsequently earned a Postgraduate Diploma in Third Level Learning and Teaching in 2015.
Currently, Claire serves as the Programme Chair of the BSc Medical Science programme at TU Dublin, where she is also responsible for coordinating and delivering undergraduate and postgraduate modules in Haematology. She also organises outreach initiatives for Medical Science students and contributes to the design and delivery of Professional Practice modules. As an active researcher in the school, Claire supervises a range of undergraduate and postgraduate research projects and is a founding member of the Extracellular Vesicle Research Group (EVeRG). She is the Irish representative on the Heads of University Centres of Biomedical Sciences executive committee and a member of various committees at both school and university level. Claire chairs the Haematology Advisory Body of the ACLSM, is a member of the education committee and represents TU Dublin on Academy Council.
